The FSSAI issues licenses/registration based on annual turnover (effective from 01.04.2026):
  • Basic Registration: Annual turnover up to ₹1.5 Crore
  • State License: Annual turnover above ₹1.5 Crore and up to ₹50 Crore
  • Central License: Annual turnover above ₹50 Crore
Note: Some businesses (e.g., those operating in multiple states, importers, etc.) may require Central License irrespective of turnover.
